Dimensions of St.
Luke's Ministry
The Support and Organization
|
Introduction St. Luke’s is a “program-size” parish with many dimensions. Everyone who is a member of the parish is a minister – a disciple of Jesus Christ. Virtually everything we do in, through and beyond our community of faith is to be an extension of Christ’s ministry. The clergy and staff are to serve the parish in the fulfillment of this ministry. The Vestry also plays a key role in providing support and leadership. This is a flexible and working document to describe the organization and support of our multi-faceted ministry. Outreach Ministries
Council St. Luke’s helps to fund and is involved in outreach ministries internationally and nationally as well as in the diocese and Bartlesville. The Outreach Committee seeks to identify and address concerns including basic human needs, issues of justice and evangelism. Thus members are involved in research, funding and enlistment of volunteers. The committee consists of representatives of the Vestry, ECW, the Bookstore Manager, and persons who are actively involved in outreach ministries. Building and Grounds
Committee St.
Luke’s buildings and grounds need constant attention to keep
them at their very best in support of the many ministries
that use them. The Building and Grounds Committee is
responsible, along with the Rector, for the operations,
security and maintenance of the church property. Members are
also responsible for the planning and implementation of
long-term capital improvement projects. The Saint Francis
Guild is responsible for the
courtyard. Members of the committee are enlisted
according to their experience and skills in working with the
facilities and grounds. |
