The Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir provides music leadership for the 10:30 Sunday
Eucharist. Participation in the choir at St. Luke’s is open to all
interested adults and youth. A willingness to make a regular commitment
of time for rehearsal and to sing with the choir on Sundays and other
special occasions is the major requirement for being in the choir.
Regular Wednesday evening rehearsals begin at 7:00 p.m. and last for
approximately two hours. Singing in the choir provides opportunities to
improve singing and music reading skills. More importantly,
participation in the choir offers very special fellowship and support
from a group of dedicated Christian men and women while leading in
worship.
Group Voice Classes are available on special request. Preference is
given to people who are seriously considering singing in the St. Luke’s
Choir.

Drama
A variety of drama
experiences are made available for the parish. Our list of presentations
includes musicals by children, youth and adults:
Godspell,
The Third
Question of the King,
Once Upon a Lily
Pad,
The Good
Samaritan,
100% Chance of
Rain,
People of the Inn,
The Long Way
‘Round to Nineveh
and a variety of Christmas pageants. The bi-annual presentation of The
Stations of the Cross is one of the most profound dramatic efforts we
stage. Many of the musical productions were written by Dolores McCreary,
our Choir Director and Organist. Future plans include exploration of the
Gospels and other Bible stories with the goal of writing our own
material for dramatization. |
